LIMITED WARRANTY

COVERAGE AND DURATION

CARGILL BASSES (hereinafter “WARRANTOR”) warrants solely to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER that the instrument is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS (Body, Neck, Wood): This warranty is effective for a period of TWO (2) YEARS from the original date of delivery to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER.

HARDWARE and ELECTRONICS (Bridge, Tuning Machines, Strap Locks, Pickups, Preamps, Switches, Potentiometers): These components are covered for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the original date of delivery to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER.

If the instrument malfunctions due to a covered defect within the specified period, Cargill Basses will, at its sole discretion, repair the defect(s) OR replace the component(s).

EXCLUSIONS (WHAT IS NOT COVERED) This Limited Warranty does NOT cover:

  • NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR: Including, but not limited to, strings, fret wear, saddle wear, discoloration/fading/damage to the original finish or plating on metal parts.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE: Damage to the finish or wood (cracking, splitting, warping, checking) caused by exposure to extremes in temperature or humidity, fire, moisture, contact with chemicals, synthetic materials (e.g., straps, cases and/or stands).

  • MISUSE AND ACCIDENTS: Damage caused by accident, neglect, abuse, improper handling, abnormal strain, or operation.

  • UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS / REPAIRS: Any instrument that has been altered, modified or serviced by anyone not expressly authorized by the WARRANTOR.

  • SUBJECTIVE ISSUES: Tonal characteristics are a subjective matter and cannot be warranted.

  • SERIAL NUMBER ALTERATIONS: Any instrument on which the serial number has been removed, altered, or defaced.

  • SHIPPING DAMAGE: Damage that occurs during shipping (this should be addressed with the carrier).

  • MAINTENANCE: Setups, adjustments, intonation or routine maintenance of any kind.

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERS

This is a LIMITED WARRANTY and is the sole and exclusive remedy for the ORIGINAL PURCHASER. It replaces all other express or implied warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Any implied warranties that cannot be disclaimed are hereby limited in duration to the applicable warranty period stated above.

CARGILL BASSES shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from the breach of this warranty or any defect in the instrument. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or the limitation of implied warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE: To be eligible for warranty service, the ORIGINAL PURCHASER must provide proof of purchase and contact the WARRANTOR to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) Number. The RA number must be clearly visible on the shipping carton. The ORIGINAL PURCHASER is responsible for all shipping costs to return the instrument to Cargill Basses. Cargill Basses will pay the shipping costs to return the repaired or replaced instrument to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER.

GOVERNING LAW

This Limited Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising under this warranty shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in McLennan County, Texas.
